The World Cup is played ever four years and there is always a big decision for the organization on what country will host the event. In the process of selection, bidding will take effect from certain countries. In 2002 it happened first time that the two countries from Asia hosted. Korea and Japan agreed that they both will co-host the games. It was such kind of complicated for the organization so they decided that will not happen again.
In 2006, the selection was also very tight between Germany and South Africa. A lot were expecting that it will take place in South Africa but Germany made it in the final voting. For host countries in the future it has already been selected but the bidding is still not final.
It would give a big advantage for a country to host the tournament since it is a big exposure to the whole world. People from different race would come to visit the country and of course it will help boost the economy. Indeed the World Cup is a very important event for football and soccer, trivia about it is unending and there are a lot of important happenings that takes effect.
Almost all country would want to be a part of the event. It is a big factor to become a host and to take the lead for all who are joining the game. It is more than a hundred countries that participate and more than a million fans will love to witness the big event.
