Serbia’s Moment of Truth against Germany

June 18, 2010 by Richard · 1 Comment

The mechanical mighty Germans take on Serbia today and although Germany won a comfortable 4-0 game against Australia in its opening match, they will make sure that they don’t loose their pace. So what we expect to see is another game of steel by the indisputable German team. Although both teams are highly ambitions and looking for a win, the flags are waving for Germany!

Its goes to see without a doubt that Germany has one of the best teams in this years World Cup and although there are a few other favorites to win this 2010 FIFA tournament, don’t be surprised if the Germans walk home with the coveted trophy. We’ve seen how they walked over the hapless Australians, who could really do nothing to save their grace from falling. Although you could term Australia’s ineptness as the reason for their pitiable win, you cannot disregard the German midfield game.

The game against Serbia will answer a lot of questions for Germany as well as their supporters, firstly if Germany is really strong enough to take on the game, or was it just first game luck that helped them pull a fabulous victory!

Serbia lost 0-1 against Ghana if they fail to do well in this match against Germany they can very well start packing their bags to get back home. There will be no miracles that could get them back into the game. This will definitely cause a huge disappointment especially since the team has some amazing players like Nemja Vidic, Dejan Stankovic and Nikola Zigic.

Even Germany’s coach acknowledges Serbia ‘s players and says that this could probably be ITfor Serbia if they don’t do well. With some great players on Serbia’s side playing for top European and Spanish Clubs this could definitely be a winning team. Midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is back after his recovery from cold, and the extraordinaire goalie Miroslav Klose has now got back his goalie touch.

The eight teams in this poll are the ones you the readers are selecting as the teams to advance from each group (see polls). With the exception of Spain and Netherlands, all the teams in the poll have won the World Cup. Netherlands were runner-up in ‘74 and ‘78.
