Valencia’s Poor Play Nets Draw

Mestalla by Malaga held Valencia to a one all draw not for its sterling play, but for Valencia’s own misgivings. In the 53^rd minute, Valencia went ahead on a superb shot. But an error in the 60^th minute set the score until the whistle was blown. Despite its attacking style, Valencia was thwarted by the defence of Mestalla in the last half and in injury time.

The draw has disastrous consequences to its quest for better standings in the Spanish League. They are now in fifth place, just a pace ahead of Malaga. They are also favoured on Sunday and may just help them get relegated to second-tier competition.

Their poor play this season was exemplified in this game when Raul Albiol. Valencia’s sweeper deflected a volley from the attacking Malaga side past his goalkeeper and into the back of the net. The side has been plagued by many errors during its past matches that lead to goals and scoring chances for its opponents. Even with its offence clicking, its poor defence would surely make playing for the club side all the more frustrating.

Valencia rejects Real move

Antonio Valencia, the Wigan Athletic winger has rumors that he is moving to Real Madrid in winter has the deadline approaches. Valencia is happy at Wigan, especially after performances against Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Wigan has got Mido from Middlesbrough and they wont sell Valencia to weaken their side. They are also looking at buying N’Zogbia from Newcastle United before the window closes to strengthen his side. Wigan Athletic is playing really well in the league and they are gaining confidence every week.

Valencia is in top form for them and they won’t sell him to any team. There was also a  rumour that Valencia might move to Liverpool as they wanted a winger to strengthen the right side of their line-up but it was denied. If Valencia moves to Real then he might not get regular play but opefully h will get a boost in his salary and that depends on the player what he wants.

Real ready for Saviola-Valencia swap

Real Madrid are looking to sign a new winger, and are interested in bringing in Antonia Valencia from Wigan, as part of an exchange with Javier Saviola going the other way.

Real coach Juande Ramos has once again insisted that he wants a new winger before the transfer window shuts is a must in order to improve his squad and push on in the league and Europe.

Valencia is Real’s first option and, Madrid’s only choice, however, they have already seen a bid rebuffed by a defiant Wigan. In case an improved offer of 15 million euros is refused then Madrid are keen offer Saviola on a loan deal and Valencia moving temporarily to Spain.

Saviola is also said to be interesting Portsmouth and PSV, but if Madrid want to use him as part of a deal to land Valencia then he will have little choice.

Cesar Sanchez to Valenica

The Tottenham Hotspurs goal keeper Cesar Sanchez is set to move to Valencia very soon. The keeper have been regarded as a second choice to Gomes who was initially struggling to find his form in the Premier League.

Cesar Sanchez will replace the Valencia goal keeper Brito who is sidelined for atleast six weeks following an injury last week. Cesar is a highly experienced keeper who has played for Real Madrid. The keeper transferred from Real Zaragoza to Spurs is anxious to play but he is not getting any chances. The Spaniard is set to return to Spain where he can show his talent again.

Valencia was interested in several keepers including Shay Giver from the Newcastle United and Cudicini from Chelsea but they have finalized their keeper as Cesar now who is also experienced with the spanish style of play which will hell Valenica to get a better replacement for their injured keeper.
