Portsmouth manager, Tony Adams is axed following a loss to Liverpool on Saturday night. He took charge of the club when Harry Redknapp left the club for Tottenham Hotspurs. Pompeys failed to win a single match in the last nine games and that’s what made the club fire him.
Saturday’s match against Reds could have helped the manager to retain his job had Benitez not brought on Torres and Kuyt from the bench. The Pompeys were playing really well and they were 2-1 up when Kuyt, Torres and Alonso were brought to rescue the club from the loss.
Although, Portsmouth was playing really well but only managed draws when they played good. They brought Peter Crouch from Liverpool at the start of the season who was playing really well for them and also scoring goals. Pompeys are now without a manager. The club is thankful to his services but they had to think when the club was just 1 point away from relegation zone.
