Newcastle United settled for a draw against Sunderland on Sunday evening when Sunderland looked like winning the game 1-0. It was the goal scored by Ameobi in the 68th minute of the game when Sunderland conceded a penalty, when Malbranque brought down Taylor in the 66th minute of the game.
Sunderland were in complete control of the game and it proved to expensive as they lost full 3 points to be added to their tally. It was Cisse who yet again scored for Sunderland on a second attempt when Harper saved the first one. Cisse has been in top form for Sunderland since his arrival back from Marseille.
He has always wanted to play in Premier League but Liverpool sold him off. Newcastle failed to win the game at home and is fighting to avoid a place in the relegation zone. The bottom ten are close to each other on points tally and Newcastle should win their next few games in order to sit comfortable in the league.
Chimbonda back at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have signed full-back Pascal Chimbonda from Sunderland, barely 6 months after he left the club.
This is Spurs’ fourth signing this month, after the likes of Jermain Defoe and Carlo Cudicini joined Harry Redknapp as he attempts to steer them clear of relegation. He is also the fourth right-back that Spurs have signed in the last year, after Alan Hutton, Chris Gunter and Vedran Corluka.
Chimbonda joined Spurs in 2006, but left after 24 months as he joined Roy Keane’s Sunderland. He has one international cap for France, and will be looking to tie-down the right back spot at Spurs on his second stint there.
Both clubs have not released any information about the transfer fee, but it is believed to be in the region of 3 million pounds.
Sunderland 1-2 Aston Villa

Aston Villa came into this game knowing that a win was important in order to remain ahead of Arsenal in 4th place. Sunderland also needed the points, as they were only 3 points above the drop zone.
The home side were the first to score, Colin Edwards’ free-kick headed in by Danny Collins on 10 minutes. However, Villa have been in good form recently, and in the second half, they came out with a rel sense of purpose. Ashley Young produced a burst of pace to find space down the right, and crossed for James Milner to bundle the ball home from close range to level the scores.
Young’s day would end up disappointingly though, as he was sent off for a studs-up challenge on Dean Whitehead after 70 minutes. Villa would not give up, however and when Gabriel Agbonlahor was struck by a high foot from Paul Mcshane, the referee pointed to the penalty spot, in the 79th minute.
Villa captain Gareth Barry stepped up, and duly scored to give his side another three points, and condemn Sunderland to another defeat, as they slipped dangerously towards the bottom.
Cisse wants to stay at Sunderland

Djibril Cisse wants to stay at Sunderland as the player has found back his form after being transferred from Olympique Marseille at a loan deal. Roy Keane signed him from Marseille at the beginning of the season. Cisse has scored nine goals so far and he has is enjoying at the club. The player is more than happy at the club and he wants his loan deal to be converted into a full-time signing. The Black Cats have an option to do that if they wish to. Cisse has been a great player for Liverpool in the past. He played in the UEFA Champions League Final in 2005 at Istanbul. Although, Marseille might want to buy him back to solve their current striker problems. It is inevitable that Cisse might end up staying at Sunderland because he has been good for the Black Cats and they will surely sign him. Cisse had a target of fifteen goals when he came to the club and he can finish the job by the end of the season.
