Vieira out for two months

Patrick Vieira was not short of words in lamenting on the recent events in his career. The Frenchman has picked up another injury similar to the injury the prevented him from participating in Euro 2008 for France. The midfielder will be out for atleast two months after he strained a muscle in his left leg.
Vieira is yet to prove himself at Inter as he has been plagued by injury since his arrival at the San Siro from Juventus in 2006. He stated that “It’s an unfortunate time for me but I will never give up.” “I am unhappy but I remain optimistic. I will do all I can to be available for the new season.
“Everything was going well but then the bad luck arrived. My objectives are still to play on and win many things with Inter as well as tackle all this misfortune.” Vieira underwent tests and it has been confirmed that he will be out for atleast two months.
Not the start Jose Mourinho expected, his team looks to be crippled by injuries and the season has not started yet. The ball is at Mourinho’s feet, how will he play it?
Shevchenko returns to Milan

Chelsea striker Ukrainian Andrei Shevchenko looks set to make a return to the San Siro; reports indicate that the former AC Milan player is parting ways with Chelsea and may arrive in Milan in the next few days.
AC Milan have found themselves in a very uncomfortable situation; a situation which may cost them the Scudetto. Milan find themselves in desperate need of a striker; a proven striker. With AC Milan’s suffering injury; Carlo Ancelotti will certainly welcome the man who scored 127 goals in 208 appearances for the club. Anchelotti stated that “If I see Shevchenko in Moscow I will say hello to him. The player will not go to any other Italian club apart from Milan.”
Having looked a shadow of himself since arriving at Stamford Bridge; Shevchenko has always indicated that he wishes to return to Milan at some stage of his career and what a time to do so. Milan officials are expected to talk with Shevchenko at a tournament in Russia which Chelsea and Milan will participate in, which could see the Ukrainian making his return as early as next week.
Inter certain about Quaresma

Marco Branca Inter Milan’s sporting director has stated that Portuguese and Porto winger Ricardo Quaresma is close to joining the Nerazzurri and that the deal could be completed by the end of the week.
Since the arrival of former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho; Quaresma has been linked to a move to the San Siro and with the transfer season ending in the next few weeks Inter looks to be on the brink of signing the midfielder. Branca stated that “He’s still a Porto player but, to be honest, I think he will be with us pretty soon.
“Even Mourinho said he’s interested in the player and I believe a deal will be wrapped up by the end of the week.”
Milan insists Kaka is not for sale

Despite reports that Brazilian midfielder and world player of the year Kaka was to be involved in a historical transfer to Chelsea, AC Milan’s director of communications, Vittoria Mentana, has insisted that Kaka is not for sale.
The Stamford Bridge based team has been interested in the player for a while now but over the last 24 hours speculations surrounding the player’s future at the San Siro was heightened as Chelsea tabled a mega bid for €100 million for the services of the Brazilian.
AC Milan has found themselves in some financial turmoil due to their failure to qualify for the Champions League last season, and vice president Adriano Galliani even alluded to the possibility of selling Kaka or Andrea Pirlo to alleviate the financial stress they are currently under, but insisted the club would not be forced into such a position.
The 26 year old midfielder is contracted with AC Milan until 2013 and wants to end his career at the club following the footsteps of club legend Paolo Maldini. Mentana stated categorically that “Kaka is absolutely not for sale.”

New AC Milan star Ronaldinho gave his first press conference as a Rossonero player following a big presentation at San Siro, more than 30 thousand fans were present to see their new idol wear the Milan shirt for the first time and they celebrated the arrival of a player in fine style indeed.
In commenting on his new club the former world player of the year stated that “Every player would like to play with Milan” and reflected on life at Barcelona by saying that “They were important years, during which we won some important trophies together, but in the last period things didn’t go well and it was right to separate.”
On his relationship with his new team mate and fellow Brazilian international Kaká, he said: “We are close friends, it’s true. We have always done well together in the Seleçao. He’s great and together we will have fun.” Physically he stated that “I’m doing well, I can play 40-45 matches a season. The number of my shirt? I don’t know yet…”
