Real Madrid Fans Day

August 7, 2009 by Richard · Leave a Comment

real-madrid14Real Madrid has most of the best players in its roster.  And there are about 18,000 fans in Toronto that showed support and did not even bother to pay $15 to watch the costly team to play scrimmage.  It was a very costly price to pay just to see the practice of about an hour of soccer at BMO Field. There were few stretching stints, running and a little half-field scrimmage. Then it is continued by balls kicked towards the stands for the fans and a thank you very much speeches.

There were many die-hard fans of soccer who would not spare their time. Based on the data comparing the event crowd to the average Toronto FC crowd.  It showed low appearance and many didn’t come.  But those that attended came from all ages and colors.  Some with turbans and  baseball caps while some of the women and a lot of kids. They all lined up three and four deep to see their favorite players.

Spaniards on Target for the Premier League

realmadridBarkas playmakers are slowly showing their stuff as they start to move towards the championship.  Real Madrid made a point that they are back in business.  Not so happy after loosing against their Barcelona their rival.  The president of Real Perez vowed to keep infusing funds for the team until once again it becomes the center of the football world.

He has lived to his word and spent 60 million pounds for the signing of Kaka the Brazilian star from Milan. He was also able to make Ronaldo sign a two year contract.  It meant an 80 million pounds fee that is a world record.  United has no power to match the offer that the Portuguese star had and he wanted to leave.  They still wanted more and recruited striker Benzema for 38 million pounds from Lyon.  Then they took the midfield of Liverpool Alonso with 30 million pounds.  With the top three players of the world on their side, La Liga is almost on the bag.

Where Is Roberto Carlos

Where is Roberto Carlos? The best attacking sweeper in the game from Brazil had left Real Madrid for the Turkish club Fenerbahce. He signed a two-year contract with a player option for a third and his presence with the club has made it contenders not only locally but also at international play at well.

He was a member of three World Cup Brazilian teams that won the 2002 quadrennial football event. He was a member of the Real Madrid team for eleven years and with him the club won four Spanish League titles, three UEFA Champions League trophies and two Intercontinental Cup championships.

He is best known for his impossible free kicks, with the most spectacular one in the 2002 World Cup match against France as the ball curled two meters before settling at the back of the net. He is also one of only six players to have been able to play in over one hundred matches in the Champions League as of February 2008.

Real Madrid Drubs Real Betis

February 22, 2009 by Richard · Leave a Comment

klaas-jan-huntelar1Real Madrid found its goal scoring magic in the persons of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Raul Gonzales as the two scored twice each in the masterful win by Real Madrid over Real Betis six goals to one.
Huntelaar made his first goal on the 15th minute and on the 24th minute the Dutchman rebounded his blocked header into the Real Betis net. Raul scored at the 37th minute mark and again on the 42nd minute from a tough angling volley. Also finding the back of the net was Gonzalo Higuain in the seventh minute and Sergio Ramos on the 45th minute as the Madrid based squad looked forward to its Champion’s League clash with Liverpool. They will play though without Huntelaar as new transfer Lasanna Diarra was the name included in the roster because of the transfer window rulings. It was the ninth straight win for Madrid, tying its third best streak in club history and the longest one since the wins in 1985. The win also pushes its point on tally to 53, just within arms reach of its league leading Barcelona.
