USA vs Ghana — Can The Black Stars stop the Americans?

June 26, 2010 by Richard · Leave a Comment

Another great clash today is between USA and Ghana. Each time that the United States has played in the World Cup, they went crashing out without leaving a mark. This time around the Black Stars Ghana will again try to block the Americans in the knockout phase. It goes to see if the US team will take on the challenge and win against the Black Stars, or if Ghana will stop the Americans.

USA 1-0 Algeria (Highlights)

Ghana is the only African team who has moved on to the next round and they are a strong team. Among the American supporters, viewers will also catch a glimpse of the ex-President Bill Clinton. The former US President will be sitting among American fans who will be cheering their team in the rural town. He probably couldn’t resist the chance after he watched Landon Donovan score a goal in stoppage time against Algeria to win 1-0 to move on to the knockout stage.

Donovan said, “Hands down the biggest moment in my career. That’s something I will have embedded in my mind forever. “The winning goal came minutes before history would have repeated itself, like the 2006 tournament. US goal keeper Tim Howard said, “We’re like the Cardiac Kids at the moment.”

The strong point favoring the Americans is their never – say die attitude. Led by their captain Landon Donovan this team could surely resist any kind of failures. The Ghana team however cannot be disregarded. They have a fighting spirit and will not give up the game so easily, and are sure to play to the best of their abilities with help from their fighters lie Jonathan Mensah who is also their captain. Being their captain and their defense he has allowed the opposing teams to let in only 2 goals though him, and of course you need to thank their goal keeper as well. May the better team win.
