Robinho wants to be the best

In the aftermath of the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga, Real Madrid have found themselves in a position many thought they would be in if they had not acquired the signature of the Portuguese international. The implications of Madrid tactics have left one of the world’s most promising players and one of the clubs best unhappy and in temporary dismay.
Robinho’s agent Wagner Ribeiro has stated that his client is unhappy with the way Madrid has treated him this summer and has stated that in order for him to become the best he can not stay in the Spanish capital. In a news conference, Robinho’s agent stated that “Chelsea have made a formal proposal to Real Madrid for Robinho. I do not know the amount, but the offer has been made.”
“Robinho is very angry with the way that the directors of Real Madrid have been behaved towards him.
“He calls me every day to see if anyone has told me anything about his future and I have to tell him that I have received no calls. “I have spent three days trying to speak with some of the directors at Madrid, but they have all disappeared. “Robinho does not understand anything. He wants to be the best players in the world, but at Real Madrid he cannot achieve that because they treat him like a normal player.
“He has liked nothing about the way that Real Madrid have gone about their transfer activity this summer.” Ribeiro further stated that “Robinho’s plan has been to play for Real Madrid for many years and then go back to Santos. Where is he going to find a better club than Real Madrid,” Ribeiro said.
“But now he does not have the support he needs and Scolari is wiling to give him that because he knows him and speaks to him often.” So with Robinho’s frustrations growing at the Bernabeu, we could see his departure from the Bernabeu as a ripple effect of Real’s Ronaldo pursuit.
Robinho extends contract at the Bernabéu until 2013

Spanish sports claim that Brazilian winger Robinho has signed a five year contract extension with La Liga champions Real Madrid which would see him playing at the Bernabéu until 2013. Despite these reports Chelsea have not given up their pursuit of the midfielder and more interesting is the fact that Real Madrid have not withdrawn their bid for Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature.
Robinho was rumored to be leaving the club for Chelsea due to breakdown in contract negotiations over an improved salary. The player’s new deal is said to be worth €3m per season net – twice as much as he used to earn and more in line with his expectations.
Interestingly should Madrid coax Cristiano Ronaldo into playing at the club then between the Portuguese, Robinho, and Arjen Robben there are more than enough high-profile wing options available to coach Bernd Schuster which could see one or two of them watching from the bench.
Robinho is currently in Irdning, Austria with the Madrid squad as part of their pre-season training camp.
Eto’o open to Madrid move

Reports coming out of Spain suggest that Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o had the chance to discuss a move to rivals Real Madrid and was more than open to the move to the Bernabeu. Apparently Eto’o offered his services to Real Madrid president Ramón Calderon during an amicable, light-hearted meeting in Vienna ahead of the Euro 2008 match between Spain and Germany.
Due to the unwritten agreement between both clubs not to sign each others players; a move to the back to back La Liga champions for Eto’o would be a problem. Cristiano Ronaldo remains Real Madrid’s primary target.

Real Madrid and Brazilian sensation Robinho has put an end to rumors that he is unhappy at the Bernabeu. The 24 year old winger has been linked to a move to Stamford Bridge and as early as yesterday reports circulated that the winger wanted to leave Real Madrid.
The former Santos player however assured his intentions for his future by saying that his future still lies in Madrid if he has a say in the matter. He said “I want to continue at Real Madrid for a long time.”
“I’m happy here and I want to continue.”
