Maldini Looking Forward to Team with Beckham

February 15, 2009 by Richard · Leave a Comment

As the negotiations for the services of Beckham continue, AC Milan captain Paolo Maldini has expressed his thoughts on the whole matter. He said that playing with the English midfielder has been a “happy marriage” and looks forward to have Becks play alongside him in Serie A competition.

Maldini hopes that the contractual discussions would be resolved soon enough and he echoes his Milanese boss’s sentiments, even urging the club to make an offer to permanently retain the services of Beckham. Initially, Beckham was on loan to the San Siro club for two months and since then an offer has been made by the Italian side to the tune of £6 million which was rejected by the owner of MLS club LA Galaxy, who Beckham signed with for five years.  The star midfielder is on his second year of the hundred million dollar plus deal, but has largely been a disappointment as the club has had losing seasons with him onboard.

Beckham playing the midfield with Maldini has proven productive for AC Milan. With this in mind, another offer is in the works to make this marriage a permanent one, at least for the next few years.

The Beckham Saga Unfolds

The deadline provided by MLS side LA Galaxy to AC Milan has passed and after the rejection of Italian side’s offer for the midfielder’s services, Beckham is scheduled to return to the United States. This after the two-month loan agreement signed by the clubs for the Englishman’s services has already lapsed.

Beckham has been vocal about remaining in AC Milan, mainly due to his desire to play top ranked football to bolster his chances of being capped for the 2010 World Cup England team. Earlier, Beckham signed a smashing five year hundred million dollar deal with the US club side but has only helped to lead the team to nine wins, fourteen losses and seven draws in the 2009 season, worse than his 2008 debut.

The saga is still unfolding as Beckham has an-opt out clause in his contract available to him at the end of 2009 and there are many indications that the Italian side is still coming up with an offer that is acceptable to the MLS LA Galaxy management. Let us all sit tight then and see how Beckham can bend this one to reach his goal.

davidbeckham_1838471David Beckham has expressed his will that he wants to stay at AC Milan. He transferred in January from LA Galaxy on a loan move. He was to return back to his club on 9th March but Milan now wants him to stay as predicted at the start of itinerary.

He is scoring goals and playing wonderful for them and Milan boss is keen to stop him. Beckham has said that he will only stay if the two clubs agree with each other on their terms otherwise he will go back. he has also arranged a lawyer to deal with his matter of a permanent move to Milan.

He has been included in the UEFA Cup squad on an expectation that he will be able to play the games despite his departure deadline. Milan is doing everything to stop him. He has given new life to their midfield and now they depend on him.
