Liverpool striker Peter Crouch signs to Portsmouth

27 year old Peter Crouch has agreed to the personal terms set by Portsmouth and will leave Anfield to sign for the seaside club immediately. Liverpool and Portsmouth have agreed on an undisclosed fee for the England international.

It was reported that “Crouch is due at Fratton Park in the next 48 hours for a medical before completing the deal.” However it is reported that the fee falls somewhere in the region of £10 million. Crouch will partner Jermain Defoe up front in much the same way as they do for England.

“I want to leave Villa” Gareth Barry

Said to be the involved in a lucrative deal that would see him making a move to Anfield, Aston Villa’s captain Gareth Barry has stated that he has made up his mind to leave Villa Park.

The 27 year old midfield English international has stated that he is fed up and he wants to play in the Champions League, of which Aston Villa is not a participant. Barry is also angered by the fact that Villa’s manager Martin Oneil has not given him any reason to stay at Villa even though they have asked him to stay.

Barry also stated that the clubs lack of effort to give him a reason to stay at Villa Park has helped him make up his mind to seal the deal with Liverpool.
