Sir Alex will not sign in January

December 22, 2009 by Richard · Leave a Comment

45Sir Alex Ferguson ruled out new signings to lessen his defensive injury crisis. United lost two out of three games, the latest was on Fulham on Saturday.  The result leaves them four points down of Premier League leaders Chelsea and Ferguson is very much aware that if United’s form does not improve quickly, they can forget the fourth consecutive title.  With seven senior defenders and their keeper out of action,

Ferguson was hinted to make an emergency signing.  Even though he ruled out the possibility of Sol Campbell out of contract on a short-term basis will join the Old Trafford outfit.  But with most of his players coming back some time in January, Ferguson will not make any additions saying that they are not so bad and are not signing players.  That is not part of the agenda, he told Key 103.  They are hoping that Wes Brown will be playing in a week or in 10 days.  Silva has started his training. Rio Ferdinand is starting to improve and Gary Neville is getting there.

Will Scholes Be Out

16Paul Scholes the 35 year old might be on his way out of Old Trafford if what is written on The Sun is true.  It feels that he has lowered his standards and while Alex Ferguson wants his crop of players to use the ginger one to be their example for them selves.  Paul is keeping quiet if he would be attracted in a new contract.  He says that he is not playing at par in football and not contributing much.  He wanted to play regularly and also score a lot more goals.

Now, it’s not the same since he plays only once every two or three weeks and hopes to do well when given the chance.  Obviously he does not have a choice.   All the players want to play weekly but it does not apply to him and it is okay for him.  For his future, he is not too sure.  He will just go with the flow and see what will happen when the season ends.

Sir Alex Not Pleased With Officiating

6426973Alex Ferguson gave Martin Atkinson a barrage after giving Chelsea the points by giving the home side a free kick that should have never happened.  Then he allowed a goal to stand that should have been disallowed.  Fletcher made a clean tackle on Ashley Cole in the 76th minute, but Atkinson declared a foul, even though United clearly won the ball fairly.

As a result of the free kick, either Mardarse Anelka or John Terry headed the ball home and even though Wes Brown was fouled by Drogba as the kick was being taken, we won’t even go into the issue.  It was clear that Darren Fletcher won the ball, Ashley Cole was never touched and has jumped up in the air, and then Drogba’s pulled Brown to the ground for the goal this was said by Sir Alex after the game.  The position of the referee to make the decision is ridiculous since he can not see anything. There was a Chelsea player (Joe Cole) blocking his vision and he did not even move.

The Big four On the Lookout

sir_alex_ferguson1Alex Ferguson is looking intently and very interested with the way City transformed summer’s transfer.  The world has been looking on Eastlands.  So is the manager of United.  Alex admits that all the traditional big four in England are looking over their shoulders while Mark Hughes is making a shopping spree.  And yet he is still not convinced about City’s experience to be a real title candidate.  Even with the Abu Dhabi billions.

They should be aware that financial muscle can achieve the ambitions.  Chelsea ran from a fascinating club to a Champion winning team that is a threat to dominate English as long as the billionaire owner is interested.  Alex guarantees that this did not happen to his team.  United could become the first English team to win four straight titles.  But he admits that the challenge given by Chelsea forced him to work double time.  City’s did not make any of the four team jerk in reaction to what they have done.

United boss says league is not over yet

February 9, 2009 by Tulsi · Leave a Comment

west-ham-manchester-united-ryan-giggs-mobbed_1863609Sir Alex Ferguson, the Manchester United manager has said that he is not ‘counting his chickens’ yet as the league is still wide open and and a two or ten point lead is not a big deal as it is only far away from three losses. We have seen Liverpool  and Chelsea losing their place to United after just few draws so that can happened to United too.

They are top of the table but their lead is not commendable. A draw will make Liverpool regain the top spot again and they have to keep winning. If they want to win the league they have to see game by game and cannot start acting proud after just 24 matches. There are still about about 14 matches left for them and they have to continue their momentum in order to win. UEFA Champions League is also coming so that also affects the performance in league. They have so far won 11 matches in a row and they cannot afford to lose their focus.
