Zambrotta eyes the Scudetto

The 31-year-old Italian winger Gianluca Zambrotta, who recently ended a two year stint in La Liga when he signed for AC Milan in a deal worth €9.5m from Barcelona has stated that his main priority at his new club is to win the Scudetto.

The Italian international stated that “I thank Galliani, but in truth, I prefer playing on the right, which is where I played in the two years at Barcelona.” and further stated that he only played on the left when its nescessary. When asked about the possible signing of his ex Barcelona teammate Ronaldinho, the full back stated that it would be an asset for the club.

No Olympics for Kaká

AC Milan has stated vehemently on their website that Brazilian Kaka will not be allowed to participate in the Olympics with Brazil. The release was aimed at silencing the rumors going around that the midfielder would join up the the team in Beijing.

His Milan and Brazilian teammate Pato will possibly be apart of the squad, while it is believed that Pirlo and Inzaghi will join up with the Italian Olympic team.

Arsenal has no intention of selling Adebayor

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has stated that Arsenal has no intention of selling 24 year old Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor despite reports linking the towering striker to AC Milan and Barcelona. Amidst all the controversy the striker’s future at the Emirates remains in doubt.

The striker has demanded a £120,000 per week salary increase to stay at the club and faces the possibility of signing to Barcelona as AC Milan has given up their bid for the striker. However Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has refused to grant such an audacious ask by the striker which would see the striker getting a 400 per cent pay rise to keep him at the Emirates.

Hills-Wood stated that “We want him to stay, definitely. Adebayor still has a long time left on his contract and we have absolutely no intention of releasing him from that contract. “You want to keep your best players and Adebayor is one of those.” The striker signed a contract last summer which would see him playing at the Emirates until 2011.

Wenger loses patience with Adebayor

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger have reportedly lost his patience with Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor and will allow him to leave once he has found a replacement. AC Milan and Barcelona are some of the clubs said to be interested in the striker who had a fairly good season for the Gunners.

Adebayor who at first stated he will remain at the Emirates, was the subject of much speculations linking him to transfer deals with Barcelona and AC Milan who has reportedly ended their interest in the player as they thought the transfer fee asked for by Arsenal was too high.

Barcelona who also was on the verge of losing interest in the player for similar reasons have agreed to pay £30 million for the striker following a £5 million discount. Barcelona are eager to sign a striker as the departure of Samuel Eto’o is beckoning.

Wenger is reported to grown tired of the player’s uncertainty as it regards his future at the club and will allow him to leave.

Malouda plus cash for Eto’o Chelsea

Barclays Premiership team Chelsea has allegedly made a €22m bid to Barcelona for Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o which also includes the French winger Florent Malouda.

Chelsea are seeking to replace the AC Milan bound Didier Drogba who is reported to have been sold for €27m. Malouda’s position at Barcelona could possibly be filled if the club acquires Russia’s Andrei Arshavin.

Ronaldinho almost an AC Milan player

Ronaldinho’s agent and brother Roberto De Assis has confirmed that his brother former Fifa world player of the year Ronaldinho is 90% sure of a transfer to AC Milan. The Brazilian midfielder who has had a injury plagued season which saw him missing most of Barcelona’s games.

The 28 years old playmaker’s agent and brother categorically ruled out any contact or possibility of his brother moving to the MLS and stated that “It simply is not possible because he is 28 years old and wants to play another five or six years of top-level football.”

The Brazilian’s future will be decided in the next fifteen days and with still a lot of possibilities on the table for the midfield maestro, it should be a very interesting 2 weeks.

Liverpool after goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri

Among the European teams said to be interested in the acquisition of coveted Palmeiras goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri, is Barclays Premier League team Liverpool. The 25 year old Brazilian came close to signing to Inter Milan in 2005 has high regard in Brazil and will be hoping this deal goes through.

AC Milan is also said to be interested in acquiring the services of the goalkeeper to replace Brazilian goalkeeper Nelson Dida. Cavalieri’s agent Juninho revealed that “We have signed a document with the team that forces us to keep their name secret, that’s why we can’t reveal it at the moment. He also stated that“They came to speak to me, to Palmeiras, and the negotiations are in progress.”

It is alleged that Liverpool’s Rafael Benitez is the main contender for the acquisition of the Brazilian goalkeeper.

AC Milan Ronaldinho’s first choice

AC Milan’s vice-president Adriano Galliani has stated that of all the clubs interested in the former World Player of the Year, AC Milan is the most preferred by the Brazilian; Ronaldinho. The inevitable departure of the midfield playmaker from Barcelona has sparked the interest of many clubs and leading the pursuit of the maestro are AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Brazilian has hinted in the past that he prefers not to play in England but with the recent arrival of his 2002 World Cup winning coach Luiz Felipe Scholari at Chelsea, the player maybe allured into joining up with him at Stamford Bridge.

Gallini stated that “It seems to me that Ronaldinho has placed Milan at the top of his desires, even if Chelsea has a lot of appeal.” But with the financial aspect of signing a player like Ronaldinho, Milan could well be expecting the Brazilian superstar to cost them €20 million (£16million) a year.

The former Brazilian player of the year and Barcelona midfielder has been linked to a move to Serie A and Champions league giants AC Milan. Ronaldinho who had an off season at Barcelona in the season that just ended was contemplating moving on to another club ahead of the new season.

The midfield maestro has been linked to Chelsea and Manchester City but it’s AC Milan that is likely to have the services of the creative genius. Also quite possibly leaving Barcelona is Portugal’s Deco who has been linked to a move to Chelsea to reunite with Portuguese coach Luiz Felipe Scholari and Samuel Eto’o who has been admired by Inter Milan’s new coach Jose Mourinho is also likely to leave the La Liga team.

Arsenal’s Adebayor destined for the San Siro

After much speculation and gossip the Togolese striker whose services were being sought by Barcelona of Spain and the Italian super club AC Milan seems destined to sign a deal with the the Rossoneri for a tidy sum of €40m.

Having been offered €29m by Barcelona and €35m by AC Milan, Arsenal made it clear that Emanuel Adebayor would not be leaving the Emirates for anything less than what they asked for. But should AC Milan’s Adriano Galliani come up with the extra €5m, Arsenal could see the departure of the towering forward.

Adebayor who scored against the Rossoneri in Arsenal’s 2-0 win at the San Siro earlier this year in the champions league struck the eyes of Carlo Ancelotti who was quoted as saying that “Adebayor was his main priority and will be moving to the San Siro even if his club had to break the bank”.

It is also rumored that the striker has begged Arsenal to sell him to the Serie A club.
