Significant Positions of Players on a Soccer Field

Positions of players on a soccer field are a very important aspect in choosing a player. Each player has its own skill and his position will depend from it. This is a sort of classifying a player and dividing them to complete the team. Here are the five significant positions.

Goal Keeper – Usually he is the best one to be put in the goal keeping position, he’s the one to defend the goals from the opponents. It is the most specialized position and no wonder that they are the one who is responsible for the goal and must be keen to prevent opponents to score.

Full Back – The last defender to avoid the ball away from the goal, there main part is to prevent opponents crossing or cutting the ball back into the penalty area. This is considered as the most important positions of players on a soccer field. As a full back they should have good stamina and energy to get up and down the field. Famous full back players are Roberto Carlos, Sergio Ramos and Gianluca Zambrotta.

Midfielder – They are the play maker, they are the one who makes play with the strikers, and the second defender to assist the fullback for much stronger defense against the opponents attack.

Striker – The striker is the most famous of the team, they are the one who makes scores through their skills, tricks and accuracy in making goal.

Right & Left Wing – they are the wing of the play, they are the one who distributes the balls to the striker in any and much easier way to make goal.
