Obafemi Martins for Gunners

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has increased his pursuit of Newcastle’s Obafemi Martins in light of the recent reports surrounding the departure of strkier Emmanuel Adebayor who was most recently linked to a move to Chelsea.
The Magpies have allegedly given the striker permission to speak to other clubs providing they can match the ₤15million asking price for the player to leave St James’ Park.
Arsenal’s Wenger is said to interested in the 23 year old but will not pay more than ₤11million for his services but with the emminent departure of Adebayor, the uncertainty of Van Persie and the delayed return of Eduardo da Silva, the Arsenal boss could give up an extra ₤2million to secure a striker for the Gunners.
