Milan insists Kaka is not for sale
July 19, 2008
Despite reports that Brazilian midfielder and world player of the year Kaka was to be involved in a historical transfer to Chelsea, AC Milan’s director of communications, Vittoria Mentana, has insisted that Kaka is not for sale.
The Stamford Bridge based team has been interested in the player for a while now but over the last 24 hours speculations surrounding the player’s future at the San Siro was heightened as Chelsea tabled a mega bid for €100 million for the services of the Brazilian.
AC Milan has found themselves in some financial turmoil due to their failure to qualify for the Champions League last season, and vice president Adriano Galliani even alluded to the possibility of selling Kaka or Andrea Pirlo to alleviate the financial stress they are currently under, but insisted the club would not be forced into such a position.
The 26 year old midfielder is contracted with AC Milan until 2013 and wants to end his career at the club following the footsteps of club legend Paolo Maldini. Mentana stated categorically that “Kaka is absolutely not for sale.”
