Liverpool’s Goalless Draw against Stoke City

Liverpool was held for a draw by Stoke last week. The game play by Reds did not reflect their title credentials this year. It was only Stoke who seemed liked getting any goals that night. Liverpool was under immense pressure to get a goal and several efforts from Gerrard and Kuyt brought them closer to the net but only to find the keeper or cross bar. Rafa’s decision to play Kuyt as the lone striker might have cost liverpool another 2 point loss and this was much of the talking point after the match. It was a surprise to see Torres and Keane on bench and only one of them used in the second half. Liverpool cannot afford to lose points against small teams. They already scored a draw at home against Stoke City. With title contenders slowly creeping towards the top spot it might seem Rafa under more pressure. The title defenders are now just 5 points behind the Reds with two games in hand which could see them going to the top spot if they win both of them. Rafa has been criticised for his rotation policy for the past few years and it seems that Liverpool might fail to win the title this year if World class strikers like Torres and Keane are held on bench.

i agree with saadan on the fact that they are world class and they cannot be bettered by Berbatov and Rooney, the two truly third class strikers :P
