July 24, 2008

Juventus ready to launch mega bid for AquilaniJuventus are set to launch a €25m bid for Roma’s star Alberto Aquilani as they seek to sign a top class midfielder this summer. Claudio Ranieri’s pursuit of a midfielder took him to England in an attempt to sign Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso who declared that he is happy with life at Anfield.

Aguilani has now become a prime target but Juve’s previous bids for the Italian international has been turned down, however, Juventus is ready to bid a surprising €25m which should be more than enough to convince the Giallorossi to release the player.

Currently Aquilani is earning €900,000 per season at the Olimpico and his contract expires in 2010, the player reportedly asked for €2.5m a year but Roma are refusing to bow down to the player’s demands leading to speculation suggesting that he is on the verge of an exit. Juventus must convince Roma to sell the player and are repotedly offering Aquilani a mega €3.2m per season package in order to lure him to Turin.
