Inter Signs Muntari
July 28, 2008
The widely publicized move by Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari from English Premiership club Portsmouth to Italy’s Inter Milan is now officially completed and the transfer fee is said to be somewhere in the range of €16m.
Inter Milan have been looking for a central midfielder all summer thought they had completed a deal with Chelsea’s Frank Lampard but recently all indications suggested that the player would not be leaving the club. Their interest quickly switched to Muntari and the deal is now officially complete. Muntari will be unveiled as an Inter player this morning and will now resume his Serie A career.
The 23-year-old played for Udinese between 2002 and 2007 before signing for Portsmouth last year and now after only a season at Portsmouth he is on the move again. Muntari becomes Inter Milan’s second signing of the summer following the acquisition of Roma’s winger Amantino Mancini.
