Gilberto Silva for Panathinaikos

31 year old Brazilian and Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva is set to seal a £2 million move to Panathinaikos. This comes as it has been widely speculated that the defensive midfielder was being sought after by various clubs.
The acting managing director Ken Friar is reported to have agreed to the terms set by the club for the player and Friar has stated “As far as I know, the player and his agent will travel to Athens to meet with the Panathinaikos representatives.”
Gilberto was acquired by the Gunners in 2002 after he won the world cup with Brazil and quickly became an integral part of the Arsenal team that was unbeaten in 2004.
