French Players and Supporters disappointed at goal-less draw with Paraguay……
June 1, 2008
With the Barcelona striker, Thierry Henry acting as captain, les Bleus could not find the back of the net in either half of the game which ended in a goal less drawn last evening. In an interview after the game French and Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribéry, who only featured in the first half, was a player left more frustrated. Ribéry stated “that is was largely pointless that France played a good first half as it was “damaging that we [France] did not score.”
With their most senior striker Thierry Henry shooting wide of the target lately as it relates to scoring and performing at his optimum level, one wonders if the French coach made a mistake in leaving out the prolific French and Juventus striker David Trezguet. And with their opening game coming up on June 09 against Romania, goal scoring will be important.
Worrying signs for head coach Raymond Domenech who said in spite of the draw he “saw good things” but will the French be ready?
