England Appointed Beckham and Barnes for 2018 World Cup Bid

David Beckham and John Barnes, both former England professional players have been chosen as vice presidents for England to bid for the 2018 World Cup.

This is part of the preparation process in which they will be working with the newly organized executives to initiate for the move of the England 2018 Ltd in its plan to stage the World Cup after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Both Beckham and Barnes are honoured to be part of the team who will be working to win the bid. They promise to do everything to bring the famous World Cup to England.

Beckham said, “I was able to play my part in the successful London 2012 Olympic bid and throughout my career have witnessed the difference sport makes to peoples lives, all over the world.”

Barnes also said, “There’s a huge responsibility attached to being involved but there’s also a feeling of great honour and I’m immensely proud to be part of it.

Both of them admit that their appointment means they are entrusted with a tough job but they will do their part as citizens of England to bring home to the motherland the right to host the next 2018 World Cup.
