Czech Republic Soccer: The Independent National Soccer Team of Czech Republic

Czech Republic Soccer team representing the independent country Czech Republic has been very active in joining several international tournaments since 1994. During the time that the country is still part of Czechoslovakia, this nation has already been known as one of the best teams in Europe. Czechoslovak Football Association is the countries national team which has competed from 1992 to 1993.
Czechoslovakia was then separated as independent countries in 1993 with Czech and Slovakia as their respective names. Afterwards, each country formed its own soccer team. Since then, the Czech Republic Soccer team continued participating in numerous competitions. The national team has made its debut with a victory against Turkey’s national team on February 23, 1994.
On 2004 during the Euro 96, the Czech Republic’s team was able to reach the semi-finals. The national team of Czech Republic made its first World Cup tournament as an independent nation on 2006 but was not able to take the lead against the United States team. The Czechs was defeated by Italy and Ghana.
During the Euro 2008, they were able to qualify for the finals as Group D and were able to set a total of 9 wins. The Czech’s squad is composed of the best players namely: Jan Koller, Milan Baros and Tomas Rosicky. The squad has made a lot contribution on the success of the team.
The Czech Republic’s team will continue to reign as an independent team and proves that it can foster the sport in the country just like the old days when it was still part of Czechoslovakia.
