Jozy Altidore gets his first goal on a 3-1 score against southend United last Tuesday. Adding a score for the win of Hull City for the Carlington Cup. He is a US international on loan with the Tigers from Villarreal. Scoring in the 42nd minute with a great 30 yard shot from a free kick to give his team a 2-0 lead after a score by Tom Carney after the first 7 minutes of the game. Franck Moussa of Southend got a score at half time.
Giovanni the Brazilian winger extended the Tigers lead with only eighteen minutes to go and easy the tension. Phil Brown the boss of Hull was very happy with Altidore when he said after the game that the best thing of the night was the fact that the young players have made their debuts felt and done well. It is also amazing that Altidore played the entire nitety minutes, he scored the winning goal while maybe still suffering from jet lag. He was very competitive in spite of their contender that is not a slouch.
