Arsenal hosted the game versus Aston Villa on Sunday, December 27, 2009. With these teams both in the top four. It gave the chance for Villa to show what they are really made of and fight for a Champions League spot but it would be quite difficult to play at the Emirates Stadium. Alternatively, Arsenal was looking for ways to keep their title hopes alive and needed to win for them to keep up with Man U and Chelsea.
Cesc Fabregas the Arsenal captain came off to inspire the Gunners to a 3-0 win against Aston Villa which drag them back into the title race of the Barclays Premier League. The Spaniard, who has not played for a while due to a hamstring problem, scored a superb free-kick on 65 minutes then converted another score to breakaway before he was substituted as a precaution. Abou Diaby scored another in stop time at Emirates Stadium, curling in a from the edge of the area after a run.

MARTIN O’Neill persists losing the Champions League game last season to Arsenal will have no conflict when they renew hostilities tomorrow. Arsene Wenger’s players came barging in to get fourth spot after taking advantage of Villa’s late-season fall down during the 2008-09 campaign. But O’Neill considers both the missing out and November’s win at the Emirates will not count in the showdown on Sunday.
A year back when they were being talked about imploding and that the team is going to take over them they went on around 18-match run of wins,” he said. So by the time they manage to come close they did it within a week, but anybody would have done that because we lost to Chelsea, equaled Stoke and also lost to Manchester City, so we only got one point from nine. The records were good at the Emirates and gives a bit of confidence before the game. But it’s different from the previous year because the game is different.

Aston Villa is in cloud nine after a good night and getting third place in a German sausage competition. But chances are, they could be due a big loss soon. As a matter of fact, it may be sooner than they think. They may be laying it all down on the line and going all out. There is a big possibility that Arsenal to win today and win with all their might. There is a moment when a team wipes out a rival and it is high time that Arsenal could do that to Villa.
With out being prejudice to Aston Villa, they are a good team who have high ranking in the league table and they so deserve it too. They arrived into the Emirates with great confidence which is correct. After all, they have won against Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool in this crusade and have a great feel that they can finish the Grand Slam by winning against us.

This allowed United to come to with in 2 points to Chelsea and come close to the top of the league. Having their share of problems with injuries but is turned out that it did not obstruct their progress. While in their last two outings they played with teams who are almost cellar dwellers they still scored 4 goals in the games that secured them good victories. Guus Hiddink is the manager both the Russian World Cup Team and the mentor for the Premiere League side Chelsea. Hiddink assumed the position after Luiz Felipe Scolari was summarily dismissed by the executive.
Other managers also think that the dual role would be hard and hopefully it would be for a short term basis only, The issue that comes up would be if either side starts going on a losing skein, there may be comments that the manager may either not be spending too much time fulfilling duties and end up spreading himself too thin. Ultimately, there may be issues as to scheduling conflicts and ultimately physical health.
But many that though this is difficult, but this task is not altogether impossible to do. But it can only be a short term decision and not a long term solution to a particular plan. These were the observations of Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill as Guus Hiddink watched O’Neill’s side draw the match with CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Cup tie. This was the prelude to the match between the Blues and Aston Villa at Villa Park. If Villa wins over Chelsea, then Villa would surge ahead of Chelsea by four points in the team standings.
