Bolton rejects bid for Davies

Bolton Wanderers have rejected what would have been a record-breaking transfer for striker Kevin Davies from Premier League new comers Hull City. Hull City progressed to the Premiership following their 1-0 win over Bristol City in their playoff and made a bid of £2.35 million for Davies, a fee which would have broken the Bolton’s transfer record.

Hull sees the 31 year old striker as their ideal striker for their Premiership debut but club chairman Paul Duffen has confirmed that the club has been unsuccessful in their attempts to sign the player. He stated that “We’ve made a club record bid for Kevin Davies but Bolton have said that he is not for sale and we respect that.”

Davies has made 172 league appearances, scoring 35 goals for Bolton Wanderers and remains an integral part of their team.
