Blackburn vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview|EPL| Sat, 13 Aug, 2011

Blackburn and Wolverhampton clash again in a rematch of last season’s final day enthralling clash. Both the teams were in danger of getting relegated. However, Blackburn’s 3-2 win ensured them top-flight status while other results favoured Wolves as they also survived with only a single point between them and relegation.
Both teams would start afresh this season though. Wolves have spent heavily this season signing Jamie O’Hara, Dorus De Vries and solid centre back Roger Johnson. Roger Johnson was signed after stiff competition and has already been made club captain.
On the other hand, Blackburn lost their player of the season- Phil Jones- to Manchester United and hasn’t signed any notable replacement. The club finally dipped into the transfer market by snapping up Goodwillie and Radosav Petrovic.
Center backs Nelson and Samba both would be unavailable for Blackburn due to injuries which leaves Kean with limited options at the back. New signing Goodwillie would certainly play a role in the match. Kevin Doyle, Muyokolo, Sylvan Ebanks Blake, Duediora, Kightly and Foley are all injured or lacking match practice and won’t play. New signings Jamie O’ Hara and Johnson would however be heavily involved.
Both teams would want a successful beginning to their campaign in order to lay foundation for a season free from the rigors of fighting against relegation.
