Arshavin set for Chelsea move

Sources in Russia suggest that the Russian attacker, Andrei Arshavin is very close to signing for Barclays Premier League team Chelsea. The 27 year old Russian international attracted clubs interest in him will his recent performances in Euro 2008 which saw Russia being eliminated at the semifinals by eventual champions Spain.
Among the other clubs that have shown interest in the midfielder are Spanish powerhouse Barcelona who a one point seemed like they had already sealed the deal. It was reported that club owner and Russian Billionaire Roman Abramovich told newly appointed coach Luiz Felipe Scholari he wanted a compatriot at the club and Scholari made a last minute bid for the player that might indeed lure him to Stamford Bridge.
The Zenit St. Petersburg player is reported to have already flown to London to do a medical with Chelsea.
