July 3, 2008
Chelsea owner and Russian billionaire Roman abramovich has reportedly given the new Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scholari £250 to spend this summer which he will use to shop for players to rebuild the Chelsea squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
The Chelsea owner is not sparing any expense as he wants the squad to be a formidable force in the upcoming season and the money is said to be used to lure new signee Deco’s former Barcelona teammate Ronaldinho who seems destined to leave Barcelona. Also on the price list is the Brazilian Robinho who is expected to leave the Santiago Bernabeu to make way for the inevitable arrival of Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
Also with the possible departure of Didier Drogba, a vacancy maybe left up front and among those high on the price list is Russia’s hitman Andrei Arshavin, who seems destined for Barcelona. The possibility also exist that Frenchman Karim Benzema and Dutchman Klaas-Jan Huntelaar may be acquired using this spending money.
